What is an Exercise Physiologist?
An Exercise Physiologist is a university-qualified allied health professional who specialises in the use of evidence-based exercise to prevent and manage chronic disease, injury, and disability with the following pathologies; musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiovascular, respiratory / pulmonary, metabolic and renal, cancer, and mental health. Exercise Physiologists assess a person’s health, movement, and functional capacity before developing tailored exercise programs designed to improve strength, mobility, cardiovascular health, and overall wellbeing. They commonly work with people recovering from injury or surgery, managing chronic conditions such as diabetes or heart disease, supporting falls prevention and bone health, or helping individuals safely return to work, sport, and everyday activities.
